Evans Tedham Building Products has a long history in the Calgary market. The firm traces its roots to the H.S. Perkins Lumber Company, established in 1914. Management of that company was turned over to Jack Evans in 1935, and the name was changed to Perkins and Evans Lumber Company in 1942.
A Long History
In 1956, Jack Evans became sole owner, and the name remained Evans Forest Products Ltd. until E.L. (Len) Tedham became a partner in 1973, and the name Evans-Tedham Lumber Company was adopted.
New Beginnings, Steady Service
In the 1990's Richard (Dick) Rempel, a legend in the Alberta building products industry, acquired the business. Subsequently, he ran the operations for decades alongside his spouse Patricia Parslow and son Darren. Following Dick's passing in 2016, Darren and Patti sold the business in 2019 to new ownership but remain involved.
